Grandparents Empowered Active Response (G.E.A.R) is a faith based ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. The ministry is open to all members of the community. It is a support group for grandparents/relatives parenting the second time around.
G.E.A.R. MINISTRY
G.E.A.R. meets monthly. At these meetings resources are provided for the grandparents and discussion groups are held to discuss issues facing the families that are raising their grandchildrens. Discussions have centered The group has explored the use of “Dial-A-Teacher”, feeling good about yourself and understanding teens.]
Realizing the importance of politics ,the grandparents group has lobbied politicians in Washington, D.C., Albany and New York City. They lobby to gain support for issues that will benefit their grandchildren. The members are proud of their support group and encourage others to join.

G.E.A.R. is affiliated with the NYC Department for The Aging Grandparents Resource Center.
Meeting Time: 2nd Wednesday of every month.
