Mrs. Marvlieu Jolla Hall, First Lady

Mrs. Marvlieu Jolla Hall has a long track record of success with 30 years of business experience including more than 20 years working in the media industry. Mrs. Hall believes every person is a “star,” created by God with a unique gift that only they can give. As First Lady of Calvary Baptist Church Jamaica, NY, Mrs. Marvlieu Jolla Hall counsels and encourages men, women, young adults and children who are challenged emotionally, spiritually and physically. She provides executive coaching from her extensive background as a Senior Executive, assisting those in need in obtaining needed resources. She also leads a monthly bible study that teaches women to recognize and embrace their season of life and to seek a deeper knowledge of God’s Word.

Hall is Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Operations, & Client Experience at the Institute for International Research (IIR), a subsidiary of Informa plc, a multi-national media and events company located in London, United Kingdom. IIR is the world’s largest provider of events and leader in the provision of business information producing over 5,000 events annually through its network of offices in over 35 countries. With great enthusiasm and commitment, Hall is successfully advancing the Company’s strategy of creating and sustaining a high performing culture with profitable growth. She also provides leadership to the Corporate Culture Committee, a voluntary employee initiative that gives back to the community.

Prior to IIR, Hall was Senior Vice President of Human Resources at United Business Media (UBM), a global media technology company based in London England. She also provided executive leadership to Community Connection, UBM’s nonprofit foundation that partners with employee volunteers and other nonprofits.

​

Hall also served as Vice President of Human Resources at Lebhar Friedman, Inc., Human Resource Director at Time Inc., one of the world’s largest media companies across multiple platforms with iconic brands: FORTUNE, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, MONEY and TIME magazines. She also was Senior Manager of Human Resources at MCI/Verizon and Manufacturing and Distribution Manager at Johnson & Johnson Products, Inc. While maintaining a full schedule, Hall believes it is critically important to give back. She is looking forward to launching Phase 2 of the Women’s Ministry at her local church. Mrs. Hall also served two second consecutive terms as President of Jack and Jill of America Incorporated award winning Queens NY Chapter where she was voted Distinguished Mother of the Year three consecutive years and is now a life member. Hall is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Pi and is the former chairperson of American Baptist Woman’s New York State Convention. Additionally, Mrs. Hall is a Commissioner for the New York State Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission. She is also a frequent speaker, with a style of delivery that is rooted in her faith, spiritual beliefs, love of people and passion for the advancement of all people.

Columbia University law Professor Cynthia Estlun featured Hall in her book, Working Together: How Workplace Bonds Strengthen a Diverse Democracy. Mrs. Hall has been recognized for her leadership in business and community involvement by being named by Long Island Business News as one of Long Island’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business, she was featured in an exhibit at the Nassau County African American Museum’s Top 30 Honored Role Models in the Community, and was honored as an Unsung Heroine by The City of New York in 2013 and 2014.

Hall earned a master’s degree of business administration in Financial Planning from the University of Dallas and a bachelor of business administration in Finance from Loyola University. She has completed further studies at The Wharton School of Business, Harvard University and the University of Michigan. She is married to Reverend Victor T. Hall, Sr., Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Jamaica New York and they are the proud parents of three children, Victor II, Nia Iman and Ayanna Gabriella.
